2015 has been a great year so far according to games. These games, released on different platforms, had (and have) us gamers immersed in different worlds, exploring the far ends of them and calling the adventurer/knight/soldier inside us. In this top 5, we’re going to have a look at the best PlayStation 4 games of 2015 until now (end of may).
# 5 – Mortal Kombat X
This new part in the Mortal Kombat series succeeded in taking the button bash trophy home. New additions (like the Faction War), sweet graphics, ultra-brutal Fatalities and more ensured lots of fun and anger when battling NPCs, your friends or online players. The smooth and arcade-like gameplay is addictive. Singleplayer modes could get boring after a while and it’s still hard to become a real Kombat-master, but that doesn’t mean this game wasn’t enjoyable. FINISH HIM!
# 4 – Evolve
A unique hunter versus monster game, in which you took part as a hunter or the monster. Action-packed gameplay with customization options made this game a fun experience. However, the amount of fun you will have with this game is a bit dependent on the ‘social environment’ you’re playing this in. If you’re playing this with random people or against bots, it can be quite boring and slow, but with a group of communicative and skillful friends, it can definitely be a fantastic game.
# 3 – Dying Light
Zombies have been a trending topic for quite some time now and Dying Light adds to this by offering us a big city filled with lots of customization options, amusing gameplay, stunning graphics, and great story. Even though it might feel a bit repetitive after a while and it isn’t a whole new and innovative game in the zombie/action/RPG-ish/adventure genre, it does make a great game offering you hours of zombie-kicking-smashing-beating-killing-running-jumping-buying-selling-surviving-talking gameplay.
# 2 – Bloodborne
Unforgiving and relentless, but extremely satisfying. Not only is this game as hard as its ancestors (Dark Souls, Demon’s Souls) it also looks a lot like them in terms of graphics, gameplay and interface, but this doesn’t matter if you’re a fan, new to the series, or are able to overlook this matter. While testing your abilities Bloodborne gives you smooth gameplay, combined with its beautiful, dark, atmospheric world and story and unique style, leaving you with a hunger for more.
#1 – The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
They said it was going to beat Skyrim, but I find that quite hard to agree on. Even though both games are quite the same, they are very different games at the same time. The Witcher 3 is a brilliant game in a brilliant series that offers us a gigantic world to explore, filled with an immersive, detailed, and vivid story, stunning graphics, amazing characters, narration, and dialogue and lovely gameplay. It’s so big, with all its quests, options, stories, people, items, and much much more you’re forgetting it’s a game. Definitely worth playing.
So, there you have it: my top 5 PlayStation 4 games of the first half of 2015! See you next time for part 2!
