Wow, it has been a while.. Sometimes, life gets in the way. With that I mean the things that keep you going every day. For me, those things are school, my girlfriend, interests and hobbies, and work. A day of absence becomes a week and before you know it you’re gone for a few months.
Ok, so I might as well give you a quick update on what keeps my wheels turning at the moment.
I’m in year three of my education now. I’m studying to becoming an English teacher and even though I am studying that, I still make mistakes. Lots of them. So don’t blame it on me, I’m still learning! Heck, we’re all still learning, our whole lives.. Term one means going to school, attending classes, doing your homework (which I tend not to do..), and doing tests.
Term two is an internship at a school or: teaching (duh, that’s what teachers plan on doing, right?). I’m looking forward to it, but it’s intimidating as well. You want to do things in the right way and get the best out of your students, but sometimes you don’t know if that is what you’re doing. The intimidating factor becomes bigger when I think of the fact I only have little than two years to go till I’m a teacher.. Yikes.. but great fun, of course!
Term three consists of a foreign stay, which is great! Staying in a foreign country, working, researching, traveling, learning: whatever you want to do (within some boundaries of course). I’d love to go to the US and A and some Canada as well, but in terms of money, that isn’t possible for me, so I plan on going to the UK instead (which is awesome as well!). I plan on staying two months with two class buds of mine, which is going to be great fun. Two or three weeks of working (either voluntary or paid), some weeks of researching, and two weeks of backpacking across the UK (England and Scotland mainly, don’t know if we’ll be going to Ireland/N-Ireland).
And well, term four is a round-up of the third year, consisting of tests, projects, papers, and other school related matters. Teachers say the third year is the hardest year, and I think I agree with them on that..
Besides school, writing is still my passion. It keeps me thinking every day. Now I must confess, writing with me looks more like planning and plotting than actually writing, which is quite a shame.. Quite often, I think of a (in my opinion) cool idea for a story, but after expanding it a bit, I become either disinterested in most ideas or I come up with an even cooler (again, in my opinion) idea.. The struggles.. That basically describes my life as a beginning writer.
My job is another aspect of my life, but it’s pretty straightforward: working in a supermarket for six or so years. Because I’ve been doing it for such a long time, I can do most things on auto-pilot, but that’s okay. I have some nice colleagues, the pay is alright, and it’s close to where I live.
Now, the most important part of my life is the beautiful creature I call my girlfriend, but I’m sorry to say I can’t quite express the greatness of her in words, so I’m not even going to try.
Ok, alright, a few words then. We’ve been together for almost three years now and our relationship’s still going strong. It’s had its ups and downs, but isn’t that the thing with everything in life? She’s a sweet, caring, and loving lady with a large amount of humor, the type I like most, which is great, right? I’ll save you the rest, don’t want to take all your time describing my girlfriend 😉
Well, that’s basically my life and the course of events right now. Writing this post and being able to give you an update felt good! So I might start posting again sometime soon, but you know, life can be busy at times, as you’ve noticed with me not posting for quite some time, but I’m sure we’ll meet again sometime sooner or later..
Thank you for reading! I hope it wasn’t a complete waste of your precious time, because as you know, time’s short and there’s a lot to do on this ball we call Earth.
Alright, let’s see if I remember it correctly..
See you later and have a jolly day/life!
